VENATRIQ Community
Community Rules
Share useful hunting and wildlife field knowledge while protecting people, private spots, and the land.
Section 01
Every species. One field community.
Community welcomes hunting and wildlife conversation from across the country: waterfowl, deer, hogs, turkey, elk, moose, bear and other species. Share sightings, lawful harvests, trail camera photos, habitat observations, conservation, field equipment and questions. Ordinary appreciation, answers and follow-up comments are welcome. Do not submit unrelated advertising, spam, fabricated sightings, or content that presents an inference as a confirmed observation.
Follow applicable wildlife rules and property access requirements. A post, map layer, or another hunter's location does not establish permission to enter or hunt land.
Section 02
Share responsibly
Be respectful of other hunters, landowners, and wildlife. Relevant lawful-harvest photos are allowed when presented responsibly. Do not post nudity, sexual content, child exploitation, hate, threats, harassment, personal information about another person, or images you do not have the right to share.
These rules supplement VENATRIQ's Acceptable Use Policy and Terms of Service.
Section 03
Screening and review
Post text and photos are sent to OpenAI for automated safety and hunting or wildlife relevance checks. Ordinary comments publish after safety screening; they do not need a separate species or topic approval. Posts whose relevance is uncertain may remain pending for staff review. Content that breaks these rules may be rejected or removed. A screening outage produces a retry message rather than confirmation that content was published. A successful automated check is not approval to break the rules.
Photos are resized for upload and embedded location metadata is removed. Visible landmarks, signs, people, and other details in a photo can still reveal a place or identity. See the Privacy Policy for more about screening and data handling.
Section 04
Choose what location to share
GPS is off by default for each post. You can enter a state and county without granting GPS access. You can use your current location or choose a spot on the map. When approximate sharing is selected, the shared coordinates are generalized to roughly a 0.1-degree grid before storage; the ground distance varies by latitude and is not a privacy guarantee.
Exact GPS requires a separate choice and confirmation. Exact coordinates can reveal a stand, trail camera, private property, or access route to other signed-in hunters. Share a precise location only when you intend to make that spot visible. Do not publish another person's precise location or private hunting place without permission.
Your private pins, routes, properties, hunts, messages, and other saved hunting records are never automatically added to Community posts.
Section 05
Your controls and reports
Follow hunters to see their updates in Following. You can report a post that breaks these rules, block a hunter to hide their posts, and delete your own posts. Do not use reports to harass someone or settle a disagreement.
For a content concern or an appeal of a moderation decision, contact support@venatriq.com. Include a post link or enough detail to find the content. Do not send prohibited images or private location details in your report.
